History

After graduating from North Carolina State University with a major in Business Management and a minor in Marketing, Founder and President Rick Kiernan enjoyed a successful sales career before joining the fundraising industry as a project director for a national firm in the mid ‘90s. He managed successful feasibility studies and capital campaigns in communities like Raleigh-Durham, NC, Lewiston, ID, Spokane, WA, Dyersburg, TN, Columbus, GA, Pasadena, CA, and Salisbury, NC.

Upon graduation from UNC’s Kenan Flagler Business School with his MBA, Rick joined the firm’s management team and developed clients in communities like Cleveland, OH, Raleigh, NC, San Francisco, CA, Charlottesville, VA, Seattle, WA, and St. Thomas, USVI. The organizations with whom Rick has worked have included chambers of commerce, community development organizations, economic development councils, the Boy Scouts of America, entrepreneurial support organizations, and YMCAs. Collectively, they raised $38.7 million under the direction of Rick Kiernan and/or Integrity Fundraising.

When Rick noticed the industry not addressing specific market needs, he capitalized on his extensive knowledge and experience and formed Integrity Fundraising. As the name implies, the cornerstone of the company’s foundation is integrity. It is a boutique firm and emphasizes quality over quantity.
